Hingham

Hingham boasts a wide range of business meeting the needs of the local community and beyond.

The town of Hingham, which was recorded as early as 925 AD, was once the property of King Athelstan, grandson of Alfred the Great. Hingham is a small conservation town well for the grandeur of the Georgian architecture which surrounds the charming market place. In the 18th century, when the socialites of high society built houses and took residence in Hingham, it became fashionably known as "Little London".

One former parishioner of Hingham, sailed to the New World in the early 17th Century. Named Samuel Lincoln, he was the forefather of President Abraham Lincoln.
